About HTGV
Together for vulnerable groups
We don’t promise it, we do it!
Hollanda Türk Gönüllüler Vakfı (HTGV), the Dutch Turkish Volunteers Foundation, is a foundation of volunteers. Since 2016 we have been supporting people who are having a hard time, in the Netherlands and beyond.

Our mission
The missing piece of the puzzle
Our logo is a heart made of puzzle pieces. That image fits our aim: to be the missing piece of the puzzle in the lives of vulnerable groups.
We stand for a society in which people actively shape how we live together and take shared responsibility for it. We strengthen the position and health of vulnerable groups, regardless of age, ethnic background or religion.
Our aim is a just and humane Dutch society in which the disadvantages of vulnerable groups are overcome and everyone has equal opportunities.

Our approach
Open and approachable
We are easy to reach for everyone who asks for help, and we are happy to involve new volunteers in our work. This is how we go about it:
- 1
Identify
We actively map out what vulnerable groups need.
- 2
Help
We respond to those needs: societal, cultural, economic and social.
- 3
Stand up for rights
We stand up for the rights of vulnerable groups and for equal opportunities for personal development.
- 4
Account for it
We are open about requests for help, the help we offer and how we account for it.

What we do
From food parcels to visits
For various projects we receive support from the people around us and from other volunteers. Some examples of what we have done together:
- Food parcels and firewood for families in Kosovo and Bosnia
- Collecting clothing for refugees
- Raising money for seriously ill children and operations
- Visits to care homes, including on holidays
- Recruiting stem cell donors with Matchis and free eye tests with De Optiek
